Running a DIY shop hadn’t left dad with much time for TV. So when Ronnie Corbett died, he wasn’t prepared.

“No, no! Handles for forks!”
After the fifth such request in a week he realised that he could capitalise on this new trend, and in a fit of optimism he ordered 5,000 fork handles, as well as some other items there had recently been a flurry of interest in.
It almost bankrupted him, but he had enough tins of peas, saw tips, and 13 amp insulated electric plugs to last a lifetime.
